The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Manifesto Committee Spokesperson on Health and Expert in Public Policy and Economics, Dr. Ekua Amoakoh has rallied young entrepreneurs in the country to support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s policy on tax amnesty and flat rate system by voting him in 2024 election.

Dr. Amoakoh said young entrepreneurs in the country stands a better chance of growth under the next NPP government than any of the other candidates.

Speaking on GenZ for Bawumia/Napo X Spaces on the topic, ‘NPP New Tax Reforms; A Game Changer for Young Entrepreneurs’ she said one of the simple reasons why Dr. Bawumia wants to introduce flat tax rate and tax amnesty is to give a tax waiver to young entrepreneurs and startups to boost their operation.

Dr. Amoako said Dr. Bawumia believes that entrepreneurship is the engine of growth and therefore wants to help young startups to grow by granting them tax waiver for at least three to four years to enable them grow.

She indicated that the NPP policies through Dr. Bawumia wants to bring uniformity into the tax regime, this, she said will help them grow quick, increase the number of people one can employ and also increase the number of people who pay tax in the country.

Another area, Dr. Amoakoh touched was provision been made by the next NPP government in the energy sector to reduce cost of electricity which has been a major barrier for startups and young entrepreneurs  in the country.

“Dr. Bawumia’s next government has promised an SME Bank to provide loans to young entrepreneurs, make available a fintech fund for those who operate in the technology space and also capitalized on the ongoing digitalization of the government and public system to run it operation,” he stated.

Dr. Amoakoh called on all young Ghanaians who have not yet join the ongoing Genz train for Bawumia/Napo to do so to spread the news of the NPP presidential candidate to ensure victory on December 7.
